Here's some great news for all those who are concerned about their health and nutrition as they tread on their quest to lose weight and get in shape. While you can do a lot of fancy fitness workouts to shed the kilos, you need to be careful about what goes on to your plate as well. There are a host of things that you can eat which will enhance your weight loss process. Nuts are at the top of that nutrition food list and help you reach your health and fitness goals. Here’s how…
1. Nuts Boost Weight Loss
Nuts don’t make you put on weight, in fact, some studies show that they actually aid weight loss. A study, which was published in the BMJ in 1998, claimed that nuts were associated with lower body weight. Another study, which was published in International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders, in November 2003, studied 65 overweight or obese individuals who were given either a low-calorie diet supplemented with almonds or a low-calorie diet supplemented with complex carbs. After 24 weeks, it was seen that participants on the almond diet had a 62 per cent greater reduction in weight and BMI, 50 per cent greater reduction in waist circumference and 56 per cent greater reduction in fat mass.
2. Nuts Reduce Appetite And Help You Feel Full
Adding nuts to your diet reduces hunger cravings and promotes a feeling a fullness, claims a study that was published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2013. The study analysed over 200 people who were asked to eat a portion of peanuts as their snack every day. As a result, they consumed fewer calories during the day.
3. Nuts Help Burn More Calories
This one will surely help you lose weight. A study that was published in the journal Clinical Nutrition in 2009 showed that participants burned 28 per cent more calories after a meal which had walnuts than a meal containing fat from dairy sources.
As you embark on your journey to lose weight, make sure to include some nuts in your diet every day!
